The first Junior Adventure Racing World Championship aims to encourage a new generation of adventure racers and recognise the best young adventure athletes in the world.
Teams of two in both U18 & U25 categories will race a spectacular regional youth prologue, followed by two days of multisport adventure incorporating trail running, mountain biking, canoeing, swimming, ropes climbing, and map and compass navigation. There will be an overnight camp in a remote location between the two days of racing amongst the lakes and forests of Temiscamingue.
Raid Temiscamingue in Quebec, Canada will be the event hosts for the first two championship races. The two day stage race is an established international event, with a track record of hosting youth prologues and is organised by Endurance Aventure with the support of the Témiscamingue Development and SADC Society and the Témiscamingue MRC.
National teams will be selected by IARA members and there are also places available for open entry.
The event will have international TV distribution and the media spotlight will be on the young racers competing to be the first ever Junior Adventure Racing World Champions.

The ARWS Junior Adventure Racing World Championship wrapped up on Sunday in Témiscaming, Quebec, with six teams celebrating maiden world crowns in men’s, women’s, and mixed Under-18 and Under-25 races. The event lived up to the title of World Championship, with incredible venues that played host to thrilling, top-tier racing.
This 60-kilometre day of racing began with a long canoeing section in Lake Kipawa, after which athletes mountain biked, orienteered, ran, slack-lined, swam, and ziplined their way to the finish in Opémican National Park.
Adventure racing is about to celebrate one of the most significant events in its history as the first-ever ARWS Junior Adventure Racing World Championship takes place from July 23 to 26, in the Témiscamingue region of Quebec, Canada.
The Adventure Racing World Series (ARWS) will stage the first ever Junior Adventure Racing World Championship in July 2026, in association with the Raid International Témiscamingue and the International Adventure Racing Association (IARA).
From September 4 to 7, 2025, this world-class competition will bring together athletes from Quebec, across Canada, and around the globe in an exceptional natural setting—perfect for adventure, challenges, and personal achievement.
The race will take place from September 8-10th in the magnificent territory of the Anishinaabe Nation, and the location is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts and lovers of wide-open spaces, with no less than 7500 lakes and rivers. The diversity of fauna and the quality of its natural landscapes are perfect for adventure racing.
