Get ready to push limits, chase sunrises, and write your own story in the wild—because the Shenandoah Epic 24-Hour Adventure Race returns April 11-12, 2026, for its 15th legendary year in the heart of Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley

"Make a team or go solo and have a blast during our annual Spring Bloom Adventure Race in and around beautiful Fredericksburg, VA.

Back for its third year, the Sufferfest in the Styx returns with a vengeance on April 25, 2026, challenging racers to navigate one of Florida’s most enigmatic and ecologically diverse landscapes. The course spans miles of Newnans Lake shoreline and threads through two major tributaries, including Camps Canal and the legendary River Styx.

Take the Bite! Adventure Racing West Texas Style is an experience challenging the best racers on a wild rugged beautiful course for 16 hours.

MISSION is one of the longest-running US Adventure races, rewarding good navigation and strategy. It is designed to push most teams all the way to 18 hours, creating an exciting finish line atmosphere. This year's race will have very affordable bunk bed lodging available on site, as well as meals included the night before and post-race.

"There will be navigation, trekking (running or hiking), mountain biking. Both Courses will have slow moving river paddling. (canoes, pfds, paddles provided!!) There may, OR MAY NOT, be surprise challenges for ALL courses. The team that completes all the checkpoints (or more than other teams) with the fastest time will win the race.

"The St-Lawrence Adventure Race will take place over 2 days (in stages) on May 16 and 17, 2026, around Rimouski (QC). This event aims to offer teams a memorable adventure while showcasing the beauty and attractions of the region.

"The 2026 edition of Brake the Habit will take place in Pocahontas County West Virginia, over the course of 24 to 30 hours. Teams of 2-4 people will trek, packraft, mountain bike and navigate their way through a course that explores this amazing and unique corner of the state.

"The fourth edition of the Endless Mountains Adventure Race returns to Vermont for five(-ish) days of adventure through the Green Mountain State! For 2026, the race is headquartered in Bennington and offers teams a grand journey through the rolling mountains, lush forests, majestic waterways, iconic gravel, and twisty single track of southern Vermont.

"Prepare yourself for the ultimate adventure as the Stubborn Mule Adventure Race returns to the rugged north woods of Cable, Wisconsin, on June 27, 2026! This 24-hour event is crafted to push your endurance, sharpen your skills, and create unforgettable memories.

Raid the Rookies back for 2026

Offering participants the opportunity of a lifetime to test their skills and endurance in one of the world's most stunning natural environments. Teams of 2, 3, or 4 will embark on a multi-day journey filled with thrilling challenges, including mountain biking, trekking, packrafting and rafting all set against the backdrop of the breathtaking scenery of the Rockies.

The Maine Summer Adventure race celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2026 with 24-hour, 8-hour and 3-hour races. Explore the wilds around Bethel, Maine -- recently named one of Outside Magazine's "Top 9 Small Adventure Towns in the US" -- by foot, bike and canoe. Each course is designed to be completed by all racers, with optional checkpoints added to provide an extra challenge for top teams. Teams of 2, 3 and 4 welcome, with solos considered upon request. Barbeque, burritos and local beer await teams at the finish!

The PGE 56-hour Extreme Challenge Expedition Race (48-hour winner expected time) is our primary race in 2026. The PGE is an ARWS North American expedition race for both new and experienced adventure racers. If you are a new team wanting to try expedition adventure racing, our PGE is an excellent first-time race.

The ARWS is launching the the first ever Junior Adventure Racing World Championship with Raid Temiscamingue in Canada, supported by the International Adventure Racing Association.  (IARA)

Heading into its 12th year, the Teton Ogre will send racers through some of the most beautiful terrain in the western U.S.

In 2026 The Longest Day Will be exploring a new region of the Adirondack Mountains in New York. This will be a 24 hour event held in the heart of one of the largest parks in the US. Teams of 2 - 4 will experience world class single track mountain biking, incredible navigation through forests and over mountains, and exciting wilderness packrafting.

This race is built to challenge the toughest adventure racers but also give new folks the chance to experience a longer race format. On this course many of the checkpoints will be optional with a fewer number of mandatory points to make sure that everyone gets across the finish line together.

Unfortunately our permitting does not allow for solo racers for this event.

The course we designed will be a challenge both for experienced racers and new folks alike so don’t shy away if you’re just starting out in AR, we’ve got something for everyone!

This year’s race will take place in brand new AR territory. So get ready for an amazing adventure in a brand new venue! Since 2026 will feature packrafting, boats will not be provided by the race organization. We are requiring all teams to provide their own packrafts for the event.

Wilderness Traverse is a 24 Hour Adventure Race hosted annually in Ontario, Canada. Teams of 3 or 4 navigate using map and compass over 150 kilometers of rugged Canadian Shield back-country on foot, mountain bike and canoe. It is one of the toughest team-based endurance challenges around and simply reaching the finish line is a massive achievement.
