About ARWS Europe

ARWS racing in Europe 2025 includes three expedition length, international races which are Qualifiers for the Adventure Racing World Championship, and a series of shorter regional races which form the Europe Series.  (There is also one expedition length Demonstration race, hosted by NORCHA in Portugal.)

The Qualfiers are 5-7 day, non-stop, races, from 400-500km in length. The winners receive automatic, free entry to the Adventure Racing World Championship and all teams receive points in the ARWS global rankings. The European Qualifier races are Rajd Beskidy in Poland, Raid Gallaecia in Spain and ITERA in Scotland.  (Other races, not active in 2025 are Raid in France, Adventure Race Croatia and Nordic Islands Adventure Race.)

The ARWS Europe series is a collection of the best mid-distance adventure races in the region, set to test athletes over 100-250km of non-stop day and night racing. (Qualifiers are not part of the regional series.)

2025 European series races take place in Denmark, Spain, France, Poland, Estonia and UK and the winning teams get a free place at the Endurance Quest Saimaa race in Finland, the 2025 Regional Championship.

All participating teams earn points towards the ARWS Europe ranking and the winning premier mixed team at the Championship race earns a free place at the Adventure Racing World Championship. (To qualify at least 2 of the team must be from Europe and go the World Championship.)

ARWS Europe Rajd Beskidy

World Champs Qualifier

"In 2026, the Rajd Beskidy Long Course will take participants into the Sudetes, a mountain range on thePolish–Czech border known for its wild beauty and demanding terrain. This course is designed for the most determined adventure racers, where endurance, resilience, and smart navigation are the keys to success. The Sudetes are a paradise for mountain biking enthusiasts, with a dense network of singletracks that will push competitors to their limits. From wide forest trails to steep technical sections, riders will encounter a variety of terrain that demands both physical strength and technical skill. Beyond biking, the course will include a mix of disciplines such as trekking through forested ridges, exploring rocky labyrinths, and navigating across historic landscapes dotted with castles and bunkers.

Participants will also face underground challenges, exploring tunnels that add an extra dimension of adventure to the race. Competitors must be prepared for long hours on the move, ever-changing weather conditions, and a series of complex navigation tasks that will test their endurance as much as their strategic thinking. During the race, teams will cross the Czech border multiple times, adding an international dimension to the adventure and offering a unique opportunity to experience the varied landscapes of both countries.

The Sudetes provide an excellent backdrop for a true expedition-style race – where physical effort meets exploration and only the toughest teams will make it to the finish line.
The race area is easily accessible by car from most European countries. Wrocław International Airport is approximately 1.5 hours away by car, while Kraków Airport is about three hours from the venue, making travel convenient for both local and international participants."

Tactical Foodpack Expedition Estonia is an adventurous endurance race through wild mid-summer Estonian nature.

Route will traverse beautiful untouched forests and bogs as well as exciting cultural landscape and special natural objects. The course is divided into stages of trekking, mountain biking and watercraft.

Teams have to visit race checkpoints shown on the map, between which the specific route is free to choose. Predicted fastest time for non-stop racing in Expedition class is about 20 hours, but the course will be open for 40 hours, so it is possible to complete it more calmly and with rest breaks.
There will also be a "soft" class option that cuts the distance significantly and “open” class, that allows participants to use GPS navigation and race solo or in a team of up to 3 members.
