The Maine Summer Adventure race celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2026 with 24-hour, 8-hour and 3-hour races. Explore the wilds around Bethel, Maine -- recently named one of Outside Magazine's "Top 9 Small Adventure Towns in the US" -- by foot, bike and canoe. Each course is designed to be completed by all racers, with optional checkpoints added to provide an extra challenge for top teams. Teams of 2, 3 and 4 welcome, with solos considered upon request. Barbeque, burritos and local beer await teams at the finish!

After eight years of trying, the hometown team Strong Machine Adventure Racing finally won the Maine Summer Adventure Race.
The Maine Summer Adventure Race will take its participants island hopping in its eighth annual edition on July 13-14, 2024.
The 3-hour, 8-hour, and 24-hour editions of Maine’s only U.S. Adventure Racing Association-sanctioned adventure race will take teams of two to four people on a human-powered scavenger hunt on foot, bikes, and kayaks, in a search for 60 checkpoints hidden in the woods and on the waters of a 120-mile unmarked course.
This year Pocket Gopher Challenges is thrilled to announce that they are part of the ARWS North America Regional Series.
The inaugural year of Adventure Racing World Series – North America circuit officially gets underway this weekend with the Extreme Break Up Adventure Race in Manhattan, Kansas, U.S.A. on Saturday, March 18th.
