The ARWS South America Series began in 2019 (the first in ARWS history) and is now in its fifth edition! This year there are 6 races taking place in; Paraguay, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, and Ecuador, plus 4 races in the Brazil Series. The series concludes in NEUQUÉN in Argentina, where challengers will race to define the new ARWS South American Champions, and try to defeat the 4-time winners Team Brazil Multi Sport.
It all kicks off on an adventure-packed weekend in June with the return of LA GESTA in Paraguay, directed by Rodrigo Cubilla, who now shares the work with experienced organizer Elio Saurini. The race is one of the most popular races in Paraguay and the destination will be ITAPUA (San Juan). Also on that weekend, the first round of the Brazil Series takes place at HAKA EXPEDITION, a well-established race on the Brazilian calendar, with a venue near one of the largest cities in the world, Sao Paulo.
In July, the series travels to the second Brazilian round with the KRAFT RACE in the Santa Catarina region, and in August, the month begins in Argentina with the ANSILTA XK RACE TUCUMAN, which was the first XK venue in the series two years ago. In September CHARRÚA EXTREMO returns as a 24-hour race, as it was in its original format, in a new region of Uruguay.
In mid-October comes the ARWS Brazil Series race which has broken attendance records in this format, GUERREIROS NA VENTURA, taking place in the northeast region of Maceio. Then at the end of the month, the DESERT CHALLENGE returns in Chile, but this time in the scenic city of Valparaiso.
In mid-November the NON-STOP IMPTEK race returns in Ecuador, presented by Proyecto Aventura, and on the 20th, MALACARA will define the winner of the Brazilian circuit for 2025 in the central region of Jalapao.
The grand finale will be held between November 27th and 29th at the ANSILTA XK TRAVERSE NEUQUÉN in Patagonia, Argentina.
The temperate to hot climate, the unique beauty of the canyons in this semi-desert region, and the experience of the organizing (with almost 60 editions of the XK RACE) will undoubtedly be the icing on the cake for a year full of adventures for the South American community as they battle for a spot in the World Championship to be held at RAID IN FRANCE in 2026.
"It is a great responsibility for us to host the fifth ARWS South American Championship. We have a great community of racers in Argentina who will have an incredible opportunity to compete with the best on the continent, and we have the unconditional support of the Neuquén, which once again welcomes us to make the event a true celebration in this beautiful place," said organizer Alito Luchini.
