Race Description:

"As is customary with NFNF Adventure Races, competitors can expect three distance options, each offering an unrivalled adventure. Whether you’re a seasoned campaigner or tackling your very first adventure race, the challenge is here.

Expect big, beautiful mountains, tricky terrain, and endless route choices — capped off with the legendary war stories around the campfire once the race is done, a key ingredient of every NFNF event.

The NFNF Original, the race where NFNF was born, over the years has become a must-do fixture on the adventure racing calendar, no matter the location. Every edition is different, every-time a grand adventure. In 2020 we explored the valleys of Riebeek Kasteel and the bays of Franskraal. In 2021 we trekked over the mighty Langeberg, followed by a traverse of the rugged Cederberg in 2022. In 2023 competitors battled through the wet & wild kloofs of the Nuy Valley, and in 2024 paddled down the rarely charted Riviersonderend River. Most recently, in 2025, we explored the lower reaches of the Breede River and the surrounding De Hoop Mountains.

Now, in 2026, the 8th edition builds on this rich legacy. Expect the same iconic NFNF route choices, terrain that forces you to think, adapt, and commit, and landscapes that remind you why adventure racing is so special. We once again we promise to deliver; a spectacular route, a challenge that will leave you humbled & inspired, and that unmistakable feeling of being somewhere few people ever truly go."
