Get ready to be inspired! The world of adventure racing is about to witness an historic moment with the launch of The Amazons Australia Adventure Race, a brand-new, all-women stage race set to debut in the stunning, rugged landscapes of Tropical North Queensland.

This groundbreaking event, taking place from July 6-10, 2025, is the first of its kind within the prestigious Adventure Racing World Series (ARWS) calendar, promising an unparalleled experience of grit, glory, and camaraderie.

Designed for teams of two women, The Amazons Australia offers a unique take on expedition-style racing. Over three exhilarating days, participants will navigate through pristine rainforests, open ocean, and along spectacular coastlines, conquering disciplines such as trekking, mountain biking, paddling, and strategic navigation. Unlike traditional non-stop races, this stage race format allows for daily recovery and reflection, making it accessible to a wider range of athletes – from seasoned adventurers to those ready to embrace their first multi-day challenge.

"We are incredibly excited to bring this pioneering event to life," says Jan Leverton from Tri Adventure. "The Amazons Australia is more than just a race; it's a celebration of female strength, resilience, and teamwork. We want to create an environment where women can push their physical and mental boundaries, discover hidden reserves of courage, and forge unbreakable bonds with their teammates, all amidst the breathtaking beauty of the Cassowary Coast."

Cassowary Beach will welcome Amazons Australia

The event's mission extends beyond the finish line. It aims to empower women, elevate their presence in the adventure sports arena, and foster a supportive community where personal achievement and collective spirit thrive. Participants will not only test their limits but also draw inspiration from their fellow 'Amazons' as they tackle an expertly crafted course filled with challenges and unforgettable moments.
