After accomplishing their biggest challenge yet with the organization of the South American Championship in February, Alen Pujol and Pablo Casenave, joined by a great staff of volunteers, will be organising their next Charrua Extremo race in Uruguay over the weekend of September 6-7th.
"It was a challenge for us to think of a concept that could provide a great experience to athletes after completing the South American Champs,” said Alen. “So we decided to return to the origins of our race from 2018, where the main idea was to introduce athletes to remote and isolated areas for a true challenge and, at the same time, create tourism opportunities for land owners."
Sixteen teams will be on the start line of CHARRUA EXTREMO 2025 with 10 teams in the ARWS South America category. A few teams stand out. A220 is a top 10 team in ARWS South American rankings, and will be up against 2 times Uruguay champions Gravedad Cero, 4 times Uruguayan champions Sin Vergüenza and Triaventura Durazno lead by Guillermo Corvo, who has gathered some triathletes from Durazno to form a power combo.
