The Dark Zone Podcast Joins Media Team for Subaru Canada Adventure Racing World Championship

Adding The Dark Zone to the media roster ensures that fans and followers of the race will have direct access to athlete interviews, transition area insights, and behind-the-scenes storytelling

Penticton, British Columbia – August 2025 – The world’s best adventure racing teams will descend upon Penticton this September for the Subaru Canada Adventure Racing World Championship, and The Dark Zone: An Adventure Racing Podcast will be on the ground as part of the official media team. With its history of in-depth coverage and racer-focused storytelling, The Dark Zone will help bring the drama, strategy, and human spirit of this ten-day endurance challenge to audiences around the globe.

The Adventure Racing World Championship (ARWC) is the pinnacle event of the Adventure Racing World Series (ARWS). Teams of four athletes will navigate hundreds of kilometers of rugged British Columbia terrain—by foot, bike, and paddle—while working together to test the limits of endurance, resilience, and teamwork.

Adding The Dark Zone to the media roster ensures that fans and followers of the race will have direct access to athlete interviews, transition area insights, and behind-the-scenes storytelling that captures the true essence of expedition racing.
Brian P. Gatens, host and producer of The Dark Zone, shared his enthusiasm:

“Adventure racing is more than checkpoints and cut-offs—it’s about people pushing themselves in extraordinary ways, relying on their teammates, and finding strength in the unknown. Being part of the ARWC media team allows The Dark Zone to amplify those voices and stories for a worldwide audience. We’re honored to be here in Penticton, celebrating the sport and its athletes.”

Lyndie Seddon Hill, Race Director of the 2025 Subaru Canada ARWC, welcomed the collaboration:

“This year’s championship will showcase the stunning landscapes of British Columbia and the incredible determination of the world’s best teams. With The Dark Zone on site, those stories will not just be told—they’ll be experienced. Their coverage will help bring the emotion, the tension, and the triumphs of this race to life.”

The Subaru Canada ARWC is expected to draw teams from over 30 nations, making it one of the most competitive and diverse fields in the sport’s history. Daily media updates, race photography, transition area coverage, and podcast episodes from The Dark Zone will ensure fans everywhere can follow the action in real time.
