With more than 50 editions, the XK race is an iconic race and has received the best athletes on the continent, creating a sporting culture and growing the sport at a national level.
The ANSILTA XK TRAVERSE-NEUQUEN from October 9-12th will build on this heritage.
On this occasion, the XK team have decided to use as a base the capital of one of the provinces with the greatest tourist interest in the country, where natural beauty intersects with the difficulty of the terrain and an outstanding service infrastructure.
The team of Alito Luchini and Gastón Busso, accompanied on this occasion by Alejandro Kuriluk, have designed an exquisite route that will combine kayaking, trekking, MTB and rope stages in 5 formats that will range from 280km for the elite teams to 150k for the adventure category.
The course will cross some of the most iconic places in Villa el Chocón, such as Los Gigante, El Cañadón del Cocodrilo and Cañadón Escondido where an epic ropes stage combined with canyoning is prepared.
The race will begin with an urban rogaine at midnight on Thursday 10/12 and will end on Saturday.
The level of the participants is not surprising for such an established race and it is the last race in the ARWS South America Regional Series for 2024, with a place in the South American Championship in Uruguay going to the winners.
Amongst the teams, the international track record of Uruguay Ultra Sports stands out. They won the ARWS Qualifier Expedition Guaraní this year and have risen to 6th place in the world rankings. The Chileans from Norte Claro continue to raise their level in each regional race, and of course the locals with a lot of experience always put up a fight.
The merger of two strong teams into the new Team Outdoor Atenas Propanel creates a powerful force, including multiple winners of XK races, and local teams Jabalí Patagónico, Ansilta Córdoba and many others promise an adventure show that can be followed live on tracking platforms and on the XK Race and ARWS South America networks.
A new South American series winner will soon be announced and they will go to the Championship race along with Ulala (Paraguay), Andes Racing Novopan (Ecuador), San Juan Aventura (Argentina) and the multiple champions Team Brazil Multisport in search of qualifying for the 2025 World Championship at Expedition Canada.
