The Adventure Racing World Series global and regional team rankings were updated on August 1st, adding results from the past 4 months of races around the world.
The Adventure Racing World Series global and regional team rankings were updated on August 1st, adding results from the past 4 months of races around the world. It’s a blockbuster update of 34 races, making it the biggest rankings update ever and reflecting the growth of the ARWS and adventure racing around the world.
All 6 ARWS regions (North and South America, Europe, Asia, Oceania and Africa) were included in the update and 758 teams won regional and global ranking points over the 4 months of competition. By far the busiest hotspot for racing in this update was North America, with 19 races included from the USA and Canada.
The update also included stage and women-only races as well as 3 Qualifiers for the 2026 Adventure Racing World Championship. These were Malacara 500 Amazonia (Brazil), Endless Mountain Adventure Race (USA) and the PC12 AR (Colombia). The winners of these races received a place on the World Championship start line in Corsica, as did the winners of Raid the Rockies in Canada, which took place over 3.5 days and was designated the first ever ‘Expedition Stage Race’ in the series.
Spectacular Locations Worldwide
The race locations span a remarkably diverse global geography, taking competitors through some of the world's most spectacular and demanding natural environments across six continents.
In North America, teams braved the rugged mountain terrain of the western U.S., the steep wilderness surrounding Mount Rainier, the high peaks of the Canadian Rockies, and the ecologically diverse tributaries of Florida's River Styx. South American courses challenged racers to traverse Colombia's biodiverse mountain ranges, the wild river systems of the Brazilian Amazon, and the high-altitude Andean slopes of Rodeo, Argentina.

Meanwhile, European races saw teams navigating the untouched forests and bogs of Estonia, the dramatic Huesca Pyrenees in Spain, the Finnish Lake Archipelago, and the surprisingly wild coastlines and moorlands of South West England. Across other corners of the globe, competitors explored the tropical beaches of Queensland, Australia, the dense jungles and waterfalls of Selangor, Malaysia, and the rugged hills and canyons of South Africa's Eastern Cape.
Global and Regional Leaders and Climbers
Every competing team received rankings points, to be added to their best 4 results over the past 2 years, and if those results include a Qualifier race the team is included in the World Rankings.
400Team of France retain their #1 position in the World Rankings and will go into their home World Championships in Corsica in two months time as the world’s highest ranked team. Estonian ACE La Sportiva remain at #2 and Kailas Fuga of Brazil climbed to #3. Only one team in the top 10 added points in this cycle and that was Tactical Foodpack (Estonia), winners of Malacara Race Amazonia, who climb 7 places to #9.
The biggest climbers were Team 4HourFuel who were winners at Endless Mountains AR and as a result they jump up a massive 29 places to #11. Another US team making big gains was Strong Machine AR, rising from #39 to #22 and in this cycle, which was so loaded with US races giving teams from that region an advantage. (Two regional scores can be included into world rankings.)

The stand out headline from the regional rankings is in Oceania, where an all-female team tops the overall rankings for the first time. The Mountain Designs Wild Women team pulled ahead of the top Premier Mixed team (Team Not Known), with a total of 1655 points, accumulated from 4 scoring events over 2 years. Oceania is leading the way in establishing women’s racing in the ARWS with the Amazons Australia and the Spirited Women race in New Zealand. Previous #1 team Thunderbolt AR dropped to #3.
In the busy North America rankings Bend Racing/4 Hour Fuel and Rib Mountain Racing kept up their winning streaks and raced regularly to stay unchallenged in the top two positions. Enabled Tracking moved up to #3 and Attack from Above are the top Canadian team, jumping up to #4 from #19. Strong Machine AR, who jumped up the World Rankings, slip down the North America rankings this time from #3 to #11.
In Asia Team Shershah of India step up to the #1 position, ahead of teams from Malaysia and Philippines, while in South America there is little change with BOA Brazil Outdoor staying at #1 and teams from Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay dominating the rankings. Team Songlines keep their #1 position in Africa, winning the Mammoth Woodridge AR, although their global ranking is falling due to a lack of international racing.
There is a change at the top in Europe with the regional champions, Lane 4 Adventure of Finland, moving up from #6 to the #1 position. So far this year they have taken another win at Endurance Quest and 3rd at Raid Neuchaventure in Switzerland and they are now prioritizing their race at the World Championships in Corsica. Three of the top 6 teams in Europe are from Estonia and Team Onnevalem moved ahead of their home rivals into the #3 place after winning the recent Expedition Estonia.

Looking Ahead to the World and Regional Championships
ARWS CEO Heidi Muller said of the new rankings; “It’s been one of the busiest periods ever for ARWS around the world and I want to thank all of the Race Directors and those they work with, often family, who give everything to stage their races and provide teams such wonderful opportunities. Thank you also to the teams who make the commitment to travel and race. The ARWS rankings are an important recognition of their efforts and I know they watch them closely, and compare themselves to their friends on the teams they meet whenever they race.”
The next ARWS ranking update will be on December 1st and the new cycle will include Regional Championships in North America, Europe and Oceania, the Brazil Series Championship and the World Championship in Corsica. There will also be Qualifiers in India and Argentina so the next revision will carry a very high points value. There are titles, ranking points and prestige to race for in the next 4 months of ARWS racing around the world!
