It’s a beautiful morning in Saint-Pierre-La-Mer for the finish of Raid in France 2016, where New Zealand team, Seagate, took first place at around 8:30 this morning. The team was firmly set for a finish in the dark, but poor conditions in the sea forced the race to halt them at Check point 33 for a few hours and get going again at first light. Team members Nathan Fa’avae, Stuart Lynch, Chris Forne and Isla Smith, were tired and happy to be at the finish line.
Just under an hour later, second placed team 400 Team Naturex pulled their kayaks up the beach and crossed the finish line flying the French flag with pride.
Both teams will be heading for some R&R and sleep before coming back to the finish line in a few hours to welcome other teams as they make their way to the sea and the finish of Raid in France 2016
