Top AR World Series teams will be competing from July 14 – 17 in the 400 mile Cameco Cowboy Tough adventure race in Wyoming USA.  This race is an ARWS Qualifier for 2016 and will be the host of the AR World Championship 2017.

Adventure Medical Kits are the race favourites having not only the highest AR World Ranking in the field (3rd), but also winning the Cameco Cowboy Tough for the last three years running.  However Swedish Armed Forces Adventure Team (SAFAT), who are ranked 5th in the world, are racing again this year and will be looking to beat Adventure Medical Kits for that top spot on the podium and Qualification to the AR World Championship.  2015 saw an intense battle between these two teams for the first two days of the race before SAFAT withdraw from the race on the third day.

Racing starts at 6am 14th July with the field, escorted by the Casper Police, cycling East out of town in mass peloton.  A number of other top teams such as Outside Pearl Izumi (Sweden), Tecnu Extreme (USA), Canada AR (Canada), and team North Face Adventure (mixed nationalities) will want to hold the wheels of the two favourites as the racing starts.

A sell out field of 25 ARWS category teams are racing the Cameco Cowboy tough with the winners are due to finish in 3.5 days.

There will be extensive live coverage and tracking for Dotwatchers around the world at  www.cowboytoughwy.com

The race organisers, Rev3 Adventure, have hinted that teams may be trekking through Medicine Bow National Forest or paddling the swift waters of the Platte. They also suggested teams may have some amazing views from the tops of Laramie Peak and Muddy Mountain.
